"We Are All Gods Children". Except for.....I ask my so called religious friends to point out just where in Scripture Jesus himself condemns homosexuality or even refers to it. They are still looking. Holy Books are a deadly weapon especially when one pulls out a page, wraps it around a large rock and murders someone with it.

Most Christian churches fall short and will continue to fall short, even the "liberal" ones.

Humans fall short of what God wants us to be frequently, but we have to keep trying.

Your error is in thinking they've ever bothered to read it. Most just get spoon fed a hodge-podge of passages, many completely unrelated to each other, so preachers can make whatever point it is they're trying to make.

Let me know when a fundie starts going through Leviticus, line by line. If you follow that book to the letter, the whole congregation would have to be killed.

Don't I know it. One thought runs through every "holy" book. "Respect one another". Then it's usually followed by 500 pages of why we should kill "those" or "them" or "that" people.

Uh probably Rick? But yeah when you have a minister, priest, or whatever up there telling people that homosexuals are evil and will rot in hell, then you're provoking negativity not just against homosexuals but people who think homosexuals should have equal rights under the law and if you're a religious person, the eyes of God. I have no respect for Rick Warren though knowing his background in the Uganda anti-gay legislation. He's a slimeball as are most of the heads of the evangelical megachurches who use the power of the church to spread hate not love.
